Accessibility statement

At the UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital, we strive to provide a website that is accessible to all users. We continue to improve the user experience. Where possible, our website meets digital accessibility requirements for people with disabilities.

How we support accessibility

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio follows steps to make sure our online information and applications are accessible:

  • We request and review vendor accessibility reports for products we purchase.

  • We check the accessibility of products we purchase, build and implement using automated and manual testing.

  • We monitor the accessibility of UT Health San Antonio websites using automated tools and work to address issues identified in that monitoring

  • We have a Digital Accessibility Officer to coordinate these activities and policies. You can contact that officer at accessibility@uthscsa.edu.

Conformance status

The W3C Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define accessibility requirements for web content and other digital interfaces. These requirements help improve accessibility for people with disabilities. There are three defined levels of conformance:

  • Level A

  • Level AA

  • Level AAA

At UT Health San Antonio, we use WCAG 2.0 level AA as our accessibility standard for online information and applications. Our websites are partially conformant with that standard, as we continue to work to reach full conformance. Partially conformant means that parts of our website do not yet meet this specific accessibility standard.

We also adhere to the University of Texas System (UT System) Policy UTS 150. This policy requires that people with disabilities have access to electronic and information resources that the UT System and UT System institutions develop and receive.

Technical standards that guide compliance come from Title 1, Rules 206.70 and 213.30 through 213.36 of the Texas Administrative Code.
