Bone Marrow Transplant

The leading experts at UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital are highly experienced in bone marrow transplants. Here, patients receive modern, research-backed care to treat malignant (cancerous) and benign (non-cancerous) diseases.

What is a bone marrow transplant

Bone marrow transplant is a type of immunotherapy, a treatment that works with your body’s immune system. Another term for a bone marrow transplant is stem cell transplant.

During a bone marrow transplant, the cellular specialist infuses healthy blood-forming stem cells into your body to replace bone marrow that isn’t producing healthy stem cells.

Leading-edge stem cell transplant care

UT Health San Antonio’s extensive research capabilities give our patients access to cancer  advancements that aren’t typically available in Central and South Texas.
